Alisha + Greg + Mocha [Coralville, IA Family Photography]

Alisha and Greg not only had the perfect evening for their session (a little muggy, but hey - that's summer in IA!), but got their Iowa River Power session in right before the area flooded. The spot where Alisha and their pup Mocha are sitting? Yeah, that's now under water.

Alisha and Greg recently celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 3rd, and Greg needed some new head shots for work, so they decided to make a family session out of it! These two are awesome, and a joy to photograph. Hello...stunning!! It was so much fun getting to know them, and I just love their little pup Mocha too! I knew they were my kind of people when they mentioned they have more photos of Mocha on their phones than anything else (I'm also guilty of that, as anyone who follows me on Instagram clearly knows), and she's pretty much a child to them instead of just a pet (also, guilty of this!).

Enjoy the sneak peek!

Happy 2nd Birthday Clara! [Personal]

I just wanted to take a minute to say Happy Birthday to my sweet Clara dog. She just gets sweeter and more snuggly each day! She loves treats, being a parrot on my shoulder, destroying toys in 5 minutes flat,  running, and torturing Einstein on a regular basis. She's also a great lap warmer. :)

Also, while looking for some photos to post, I realized I take a LOT of Clara pics over the course of the year. It's possible I need a 12 step program. Here are some that embody this crazy little dog…

The W Family [Coralville, IA Family and Pet Photography]

I first met Carissa after seeing her photography on Facebook, I believe we got together for coffee and closed down the Starbucks. Since then we've gotten Marius and Clara together at the dog park, and dinners out. I finally met Brian a few weeks ago, and the rest of the puppy + kitty clan (Jack, Suki, and Etta). I adore this family, and the more I get to know Carissa and Brian, the more I find we have in common. These two have become great friends, and I was so thrilled that Carissa (as I mentioned, a fellow photographer - check out CTW Photography, she and Tanya are fabulous!!) asked me to photograph her sweet little (furry) family.

We met at Kent Park for their session on a gorgeous evening last week, and had a fabulous time laughing, puppy wrangling, and of course I left wanting another dog + a tiny kitten. Maybe I'll just borrow theirs...though I am contemplating stealing Jack, he's just such a sweetie. I just love him.

Carissa and Brian - Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph you guys! I've had so much fun getting to know you both better recently, and I always have the best time with you both. I hope you like this sneak peek! :)

Love this one! These two are adorable together.

Happy National Dog Day!

My friend Jess pointed out that today is National Dog Day (which was started in 2004 to recognize the massive number of shelter pets looking for a good home and to encourage their adoption)! So, what better way to celebrate than with some adorable puppy faces (including my own 2 rascals, of course) here on the blog? I love when clients bring their dogs to their session, it's so much fun for me as I'm obsessed with puppies, and it's nice to include every member of your family. :)

The two that rule my world...

Elliot [Coralville, IA Newborn & Family Lifestyle Photography]

This past Sunday I ventured out in the snow to meet Elliot, a darling little girl who was born on March 4th. She was still a tiny little thing, and SO adorable. Her parents, Holly and Loren have the most amazing style (as you can see in the images below!), and I'm still trying to figure out how to get them to come and decorate my house. :)

Elliot was a perfect model, sleeping nearly the entire session but opening her eyes for a few awake shots too. We mainly focused on lifestyle images for their session, which are my absolute FAVORITE. I left this session with a huge smile on my face, wondering "how did I get so lucky? How is this my life?".

Holly, Loren, Elliot (+ Oscar and Nora too!) - thank you for an incredible session. You guys are amazing and Elliot is such a lucky little girl (not to mention so darn cute!!) to be surrounded by so much love. Thank you for trusting me to photograph such a special time in your lives, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you all.

Side note: If you look at these images and admire Holly's hair and makeup, check out Tru Salon in Coralville, which is the salon they own and work at (Holly's makeup was done by the fabulous Kayla for the session).

I'm pretty sure this is my favorite, though it's nearly impossible to choose!

Shannon + Kam [and Paco too!] - North Liberty, IA Family Photography

Shannon and Kam were one of my 2011 wedding couples so it was so much fun to see them just over a year later with their little dachshund Paco! We had a great session, but since they are using one for a holiday card I can only share a single photo for now. More coming soon after the holidays!
