Oh how I love newborns, and it's worked out schedule wise this year to photograph several past Iowa clients' sweet new babies!

Do you wonder what the advantage is to an in home newborn session? You and your family get to hang out in the comfort of your own home, and it's super relaxed and easy. For example, with this little family, big brother Guy is almost 3, and rather than trying to entertain him in a strange studio space, he could take breaks or play with his toys and have a snack when he wasn't needed for photos! Super easy!

The M Family [Iowa City, IA Family and Child Photographer]

This is the second time I've photographed this smiley guy, but the first time for a full family session and we had the most beautiful (if a tiny bit chilly) weather. I just LOVE fall and all of the beautiful leaves, and I hate that every year it seems to get shorter and shorter. There is SNOW in the forecast for Cleveland next week (though, Iowa City got snow the day after I left from this weekend of sessions..). I just wish the leaves would stay forever, anyone else?

Jacob is such a happy, sweet little guy and I adored photographing this family - thank you to Rachel, Michael, and Jacob for spending their morning with me a couple weeks ago! Here are some of my faves from their fall session!

Meredith [Plainfield, IL Lifestyle Newborn Photographer]

Sweet Meredith! This was such a fun session because I got to see Ryan and Kelly again after photographing their gorgeous wedding 4 years ago. Time seriously flies!

They've done tons of traveling as a married couple, and decorated this little peanut's nursery with all kinds of things they've brought back from their trips (including a little Costa Rican stuffed sloth toy that is peeking out of the hot air balloons above the rocking chair).

I also got to meet the world's most adorable dog, Indy! Seriously, the personality on this dog makes me want to photograph her all day. If you have a dog, you must include them in your newborn session, they were your first "baby" after all. ;)

And finally, one of the most special things we photographed was Ryan rocking his daughter in the chair that belonged to his great grandmother and has rocked every generation of his family (Meredith makes 4!). How incredible is that? I hope that they will always treasure that photo, and someday Meredith will love it too!
