Drake [Coralville, IA Lifestyle Newborn and Family Photography]

My sister Rachel, her husband Matt, and big sister Lilly welcomed baby Drake on April 11th and he made his photography debut on Sunday. This little guy was a perfect model and it was so fun to spend the afternoon with this adorable family. I am so thrilled for my sister and Matt, and I'm very lucky to have these guys living so close. Kayla Jones did Rachel's hair and makeup, and did a fabulous job as always.

The H Family [Humboldt, IA Maternity and Family Photography]

My sister Bri and her husband Colby are expecting their second child, a little boy, in May. I ventured up to my parents' house in Humboldt over Easter to photograph them along with their daughter Bristol. Not having children myself, I am in awe of how fabulous my sister looks with just over a month to go. This girl is a superhero. :)

I can't wait to meet my new nephew when he arrives, but until then, enjoy this little sneak peek from their session!

Holly + Elliot: Day in the Life [North Liberty, IA Lifestyle Photography]

This session is very near and dear to my heart, as it's something that I've wanted to do for a really long time. I believe I mentioned the idea to Holly at a work meeting, and she encouraged me to go for it, as well as volunteering to be my first subject. I will be forever grateful for her support, as this type of photography is what I really want to be doing. So, to Holly, thank you.

With this Day in the Life session, I arrived early in the morning so I could capture Holly and Elliot's AM routine - waking up, breakfast time, and play time. This opportunity was truly everything I hoped for, and more! These two are absolutely adorable together, and it's so fun to see such a special bond between them. Holly is such a fantastic mom, which she juggles along with being a strong, creative businesswoman - no easy feat!! I really admire her strength, and she is an incredible role model for her daughter. Speaking of Elliot, she is such a happy, sweet little thing, and so full of personality.

This is the biggest preview I've ever done for a session (not including weddings) but I really couldn't narrow it down. I believe this is a story, and it wouldn't do it justice to only share a handful of images. So, I hope you enjoy! You can find more information on Day in the Life sessions HERE.
