Behind the Scenes: 2014

This year, after starting my business instagram (follow me HERE), I thought it would be fun to start taking some behind the scenes pics at weddings and sessions. Along with some incredibly unflattering images (which I happily deleted...or at least have decided I'm not showcasing here!!), there was an amazing collection that shows how much fun we have at weddings and sessions, how much my clients mean to me, and last but certainly not least - apparently I am quite the contortionist when it comes to shooting positions. Weird, yet oddly comfortable. Half the time I don't even realize it. There are also a few of Josh and Coelle at work in here too! :) Anyways, I got a good laugh when I went through them, hopefully you will too!!

Porter: 6 Months [Iowa City, IA Family and Child Photography]

This little guy is just the cutest thing ever, am I right?! He is so happy and has the best smile, courtesy of silly antics from mom, dad, and Coelle behind the scenes. ;) We took these out at Barnes Tree Farm and it was the perfect setting for his wintery 6 month photos. Six months really is my favorite time to photograph little ones, they are so happy and you get some great laughs and smiles at this age. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

The M Family [Iowa City, IA Family Photography]

The M Family's session was downtown Iowa City on one of the coldest days I've ever taken photos, for sure. I tried to make sure we took breaks so our fingers didn't freeze off, and had a great time getting to know this super sweet, gorgeous family. They didn't complain once about the cold, and were such good sports about it all!! I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

Carissa + Brian [Iowa City, IA Maternity Session] by Coelle

I am so proud to post these images that my fabulous assistant Coelle took of my good friends Carissa and Brian. They volunteered to be practice subjects for Coelle this summer, but we ended up postponing to make it a maternity session later this fall.

This session was Coelle's 3rd session doing everything herself, and I couldn't be more proud of her. She's doing so great!! I can't wait for her to be taking clients in 2015, it's been so much fun watching her journey.

Carissa and Brian - what can I say about these two? They are some of my favorite people, funny and kind, and dog lovers just like me. :) We often get together for dinner and what we like to call "Friday night group therapy" where we chat about life and laugh, a lot. I can't wait for these two to have their little girl in January, she will be the cutest thing ever, and very loved.
