Nicolette [Coralville, IA Editorial Photography]
Nicolette also needed some headshots for an upcoming modeling opportunity, so we took these a couple weeks ago and I just love how they turned out! Isn't she gorgeous? Here are a handful of my favorites...

I really have fun doing editorial photography, as it's totally different from family sessions. Zach needed some headshots for a modeling opportunity, and here are a handful of my favorites!

The S Family: Day in the Life [Iowa City, IA Documentary Photography]
Day in the Life sessions are hands down my favorite type of session to do, as I love the natural feel of the images and how they tell a story of people's lives. I like to think of it as the family photos you wish you had, because everyone has the opportunity to be in them. I don't have a family of my own, but I know from growing up that so many of our family photos have just one parent in them as someone had to take the image. I know now with phones having great cameras, we tend to document our daily lives more often, but I believe very strongly in the value of having images like these.
I met Katharine and Nate, and their adorable little ones on a chilly Saturday morning back in December. They made breakfast, read books, and played as a family - with the glittering Christmas tree in the background. It is such an honor to be invited into someone's home to document such intimate moments with them being truly themselves, so huge thanks to Katharine and Nate for the opportunity.
It's difficult to narrow down my favorite images when they all seem to be part of the story, but here are some of the ones that Katharine and Nate chose, as well as a couple additional faves of mine. Enjoy!

Bowen [Solon, IA Lifestyle Newborn Photography]
Baby Bowen, don't you just love that name? He joined big brother Ryker, along with mom and dad for his photo debut and did such a great job modeling! Those big eyes just kill me, what a cutie!
Kristen and Travis - thank you so much for inviting me back for maternity and newborn photos of your new little guy! It is always so great to catch up with clients, and congratulations again.
Here are a handful of my favorites from his session, I hope you enjoy!
While Bowen was being changed for the session, Ryker was having a good time looking at himself in photo books from his previous sessions. It was so cute!

The A Family [Iowa City, IA Extended Family Photography]
I don't get the opportunity to photograph extended families very often, and when I do, I typically don't blog them as they are rarely candid or what I would consider my typical style of photography. However, with the A family, who I met up with when everyone was visiting over the holidays, I had so much fun that I had to share. These guys were a ton of fun, and how cute are these kiddos? I love some of the candid shots, and a family that loves to laugh always makes the session a great time! Here are some of my favorites, I hope you enjoy!
