The K Family [Madison, WI Family and Child Photographer]

I can't believe I haven't blogged this session yet!! This was one of my Madison minis from the spring, and if you've followed my work for any length of time you know I just ADORE this family. Coelle is one of my dear friends that I met through photography (when I photographed Julian's newborn session...FIVE years ago! Where does the time go?!) and I basically consider her kids to be my nephews. They moved to Madison, WI a couple of years ago and I finally made it up there a couple of times this winter/spring.

I think I'm going to have to return to Madison next spring to do more mini's in this spot. It is SO beautiful! Who wants to join me?

Kayla, Jae, and Khari [Naperville, IL Family and Child Photographer]

Kayla came to me with the idea of a session that celebrated motherhood, the strength and bravery it takes to raise these little people and I couldn't wait. We actually rescheduled this three times to get the perfect day, as a sunny evening in this magical little spot full of wildflowers is really when it shines.

As we packed up that day, Kayla said something that gave me chills - she said "I'm proud to be a mother. I take this responsibility so seriously. It is what defines me and I am honored by it." What a beautiful way to look at this journey she's on as a mother. I'm not a mother myself, but I know that it's not for the faint of heart. My goal was to capture the strength and the softness that all women have inside them, and I am really proud of this session. I hope you love it too!

The L Family [Naperville Family and Child Photographer]

Ciarra's kiddos participated in my "Let Them Be Little" minis this past winter, and she approached me late spring to ask if I would be willing to do a similar style shoot for her entire family. Of course I said, YES! The idea was the same, just candid style portraits in classic black and white to really showcase their personalities. I loved this session!
