The A Family [Shorewood, IL Family and Child Photographer]

The A family's session was rained out in May, so we pushed it back to August and barely escaped the rain this time (I think it had rained alllll night, so we lucked out!). These two boys are adorable, and kept me on my toes pretty much the whole session. Jess and Frank just went with it though, and with a little patience and a lot of bribes (lol) we got some really cute stuff.

The key for taking photos of kids? Be patient. Let them be a little silly sometimes. It will ALLLLL be ok, even if you have to edit out tiny Theo's hands from the pic of Jess and Frank because he just wanted to be held. ;) That's life, mamas! No stress...we just roll with it.

Lexi, Grant, + Walter [Wilson's Orchard, Iowa City, Iowa Family and Child Photographer]

This was the first time I had the opportunity to photograph these three, and man are they adorable together! Lexi always takes a ton of really amazing photos of Walter, so I definitely wanted to make sure and get some family photos that she loved. Moms, I see you, I know you're always the one behind the camera (or dads, honestly). Even if you don't do it every year, I beg you to take the time to get some family photos!! Get in front of the camera, even if you don't like having your photo taken or feel photo ready. Your kiddos will love the memories, and so will you, I promise.

The B Family [Naperville Lifestyle Family and Child Photographer]

I was so lucky to see this family during both of my recent trips home, as they participated in my Let Them Be Little minis and then we did this little shoot to give them some holiday card images! With three little ones, sometimes the session can get a little wild, so we leaned toward a lifestyle feel for these and let the kids run around, throw rocks in the water (they really loved this), and sneak up on mom & dad. With that being said, we still got some great posed photos to show off just how adorable they all are! I like to do a good mix of both at a session, to give you lots of options when choosing your photos or give interest to an album if you go that route!
