The S Family: Day in the Life [Naperville, IL Lifestyle Photography]

This is actually the second Day in the Life shoot that the S family has done, and it was pretty cool to see how the boys have grown and changed in the past couple of years. They still love playing trains, but Ian has grown up so much (he was still just a little guy last time I photographed them!) and now the boys can ride bikes and play in their brickle bush fort together (how cool is that spot by the way?).

We had a blast hanging out on a Sunday morning, and I love how this family just plays together! They enjoyed some coloring, train building (Abe had a very specific vision he was executing), light saber battles, tree climbing, and even some magic tricks from Nate. I'm so fortunate to have awesome clients who make my job super fun, it truly is such a joy to be able to capture these memories for the S family! This was right after Abe told his dad "I don't want my turkey to be bumpy". I just love Katharine's face in this!

The J Family [Naperville Family and Child Photography]

This was my first time photographing the J family, and although their little guy was not too sure about me and my camera, we still got some great smiles! The G Family: Day in the Life [Iowa City, IA Lifestyle Photographer]

Day in the life sessions, as you all know, are some of my favorites. I love telling a story through my photos, and capturing those little moments of everyday life. I've been photographing this family since before Max was born, so it was a lot of fun to do something different for this year's session.

The family has a home on a lake nearby, and love to spend their weekends boating, so what better way to document their day in the life than on a boat? This was a first for me, doing a session on a boat, but we had a blast! I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story...
