Annie [Iowa City, IA Editorial Photography]

Annie was last year's winner of the Tru Salon Model Search, where their clients could enter to win a glamorous styling session with the stylist of their choice and their very own editorial type session with yours truly! I do editorials seasonally for the salon, and seeing Annie's vision come to life was so much fun! I loved her idea to use the bubble gum, and the sexy, playful vibe of her shoot. Everyone should have a chance to feel this beautiful!! Here are just a few of my favorites from the day.

Hair by Holly Richter, and makeup by Kayla Jones.

Nicolette [Coralville, IA Editorial Photography]

Nicolette also needed some headshots for an upcoming modeling opportunity, so we took these a couple weeks ago and I just love how they turned out! Isn't she gorgeous? Here are a handful of my favorites...

I really have fun doing editorial photography, as it's totally different from family sessions. Zach needed some headshots for a modeling opportunity, and here are a handful of my favorites!

Tru Salon Spring 2015 Editorial [Coralville, IA Editorial Photography]

Every season Tru Salon plans an inspirational, editorial photo shoot to show off one of the trends of the season. They choose one image from the session and it becomes art in the salon. This is such a fun, different thing for me to do as an artist, and I always have a great time working with the ladies from Tru. Kayla Jones did the hair, and Justin Kahler was the male model - showing off the "man bun" trend. Enjoy!

Jess [Iowa City, IA Editorial Photography]

Another collaboration with Holly from Tru Salon - this time we did the session at Clinton St. Social Club (huge thanks to Brian for allowing us use of the space!!). We went for a soft, cozy, wintery feel and we had a great time. Love working with Holly on these personal projects - so much fun! Huge thanks to Jess for modeling!

Chris [Iowa City, IA Editorial Photography]

I've been dabbling with some editorial type photography lately, it's so much fun for me to do something purely for myself. I've mentioned in previous posts, it inspires me in ways I didn't expect and ultimately makes me a happier person and better photographer. I think it's pretty common as a photographer to get to a point where you are busy (which is AWESOME) but stop picking up a camera just for fun, so getting back to shooting in my free time has been a breath of fresh air for me.

Huge thank you to Chris for spending his Sunday morning modeling for me, I appreciate it so much!!
