Jackie + David [Iowa City, IA Engagement Photography]

Jackie and David met us for their engagement session last Saturday evening, and we didn't let a few wayward sprinkles ruin our fun. These two are absolutely adorable together - they love to laugh and they definitely love each other. I can't tell you how much fun it was to photograph them, and now I'm even more excited for their Palisades Park wedding this fall.

These two met in Costa Rica when they were studying abroad, David's height (6'5"!) and helpful, thoughtful, and incredibly kind nature won Jackie over immediately. They started out as friends, but after several months went by they went out on a first date and spent hours just talking. Jackie shared with me in some of our initial conversations that she feels like the luckiest girl in the world since she met David and I'm pretty sure that David feels super lucky to have Jackie in his life as well. These two are absolutely perfect for each other and it's an honor to be able to document their story.

I think this is my favorite, why is it always so hard to choose?!

Elliot [Coralville, IA Newborn & Family Lifestyle Photography]

This past Sunday I ventured out in the snow to meet Elliot, a darling little girl who was born on March 4th. She was still a tiny little thing, and SO adorable. Her parents, Holly and Loren have the most amazing style (as you can see in the images below!), and I'm still trying to figure out how to get them to come and decorate my house. :)

Elliot was a perfect model, sleeping nearly the entire session but opening her eyes for a few awake shots too. We mainly focused on lifestyle images for their session, which are my absolute FAVORITE. I left this session with a huge smile on my face, wondering "how did I get so lucky? How is this my life?".

Holly, Loren, Elliot (+ Oscar and Nora too!) - thank you for an incredible session. You guys are amazing and Elliot is such a lucky little girl (not to mention so darn cute!!) to be surrounded by so much love. Thank you for trusting me to photograph such a special time in your lives, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you all.

Shannon, Kam, & Paco [North Liberty, IA Family and Pet Photography]

I was looking through some old posts yesterday and realized that I promised more photos from Shannon and Kam's session with Paco after their holiday cards were sent out and never actually got around to it! I decided that just wouldn't do, so here are a few more photos of the adorable Paco and his equally wonderful owners Shannon & Kam to brighten your Thursday afternoon.

Pattie & Benton (and Ruby too!) [Iowa City, IA Maternity Photography]

Pattie and Benton are expecting their first child (well, second if you count furry babies like their adorable pup Ruby!) in May, and I was thrilled that they contacted me about maternity photos. I really love photographing this time in people's lives, it's filled with tons of love, excitement, and anticipation for the new arrival. Pattie and Benton were absolutely glowing with adoration for each other as well as this new life they're eagerly awaiting.

Pattie & Benton (along with Ruby of course!) chose City Park in Iowa City as their session location, which provided a stunning snow filled backdrop for their maternity photos. Winter sessions are some of my favorites, the world just seems so peaceful, don't you think? Ruby seemed to enjoy the snow too, we were all wishing we had a luxurious fur coat like hers to keep us warm!

Pattie & Benton - it was a pleasure to meet you both, thank you for choosing me to document this milestone! I am so excited to meet your new addition when he or she arrives in May. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
