Macayla + John [Waterloo, IA Wedding and Electric Park Ballroom Reception]

Macayla and John were married in Waterloo at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the reception held at the Electric Park Ballroom on the beautiful, sunny (but a tad windy) 11th of May. As you may remember from their engagement post, Macayla and John were brought together merely by chance (or maybe fate?) when Macayla's car broke down on the side of the road and John was the tow truck driver who came to help. These two infused their entire wedding day with tons of amazing little touches that highlighted their relationship and personalities, from the camo and cowboy boots adorning the bridal party, down to the shiny red tow truck getaway vehicle.

Macayla and John - You two are amazing, and we wish you all of the happiness in the world. Thank you for choosing us to document your wedding day, it was so much fun, and we love you both like family. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!!

Macayla and John chose to do a first look, which is a great way to make sure you have plenty of time for amazing photos on your wedding day. Trust me, when you see these photos you will realize that it can be just as special (and in my opinion, more intimate) as seeing each other at the end of the aisle. I just love this series, especially John's reaction.

I LOVED the cowboy boots, it fit with their style perfectly and I think the girls were pretty comfy all day!








I have to say, I was thanking my lucky stars that Macayla had a beautiful long veil, which allowed me to utilize the wind in my favor to get some shots with gorgeous natural movement.

Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to wish all of the moms out there a very happy Mother's Day today!! You guys are all amazing women and I'm proud to know every one of you. I hope you are spoiled rotten today, you deserve it!

Max: 1 Year [North Liberty, IA Child and Family Photography]

I can't believe Max is one! It seems like just a couple of months ago that I photographed his parents at their maternity session, and then his newborn session. Melissa, Dave, and Max are such a wonderful, sweet, fun family and I'm so thankful to have them as clients. We had beautiful weather for Max's 1 year session, and Melissa did a fabulous job of bringing a lot of great stuff for Max to be photographed with, as well as keep him entertained.

His bow tie and suspenders onesie and newsboy hat are from one of my favorite stores for locally made and unique baby gifts and outfits for photo sessions, Itsy Bitsy Boutique in North Liberty!

Melissa, Dave, and Max - thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph Max's 1 year milestone. I can't believe how much he's grown, and it was absolutely wonderful seeing you all again. I hope you enjoy the preview!












I always try and talk my parents into getting some photos of just the two of them...their relationship is important to document too! This one reminded me a lot of some we took at their maternity session a little over a year ago. Love!
