Amanda + Chris [Iowa City, IA Celebration Farm Wedding Photography]

Amanda and Chris were married on Saturday, June 21st at the Celebration Farm, with the ceremony in the amphitheater, cocktail hour in the Timber Frame, and reception in the Double Round. These two are not only stunning, but also sincere, thoughtful, and so very kind. It was a pleasure and an honor to photograph their wedding day, which included some of the area's best vendors (see list below!) and tons of beautiful details.

The amphitheater was lined with gorgeous flowers, and included vintage doors which opened to reveal Amanda waiting at the top of the stairs to join her groom at the altar. Their cocktail hour and reception included personal touches such as a Sweet Tea + Lemonade stand to honor their Southern home of Atlanta, and the KoHawk mascot making an appearance at the reception to honor Chris' history as a Coe College basketball player.

Amanda and Chris - you two are such genuine, beautiful people and we were honored to be a part of your day. We wish you nothing but the best, and hope you always feel the happiness you felt on your wedding day.

Devyn + Mark [Cedar Ridge Winery Engagement Photography, Swisher, IA]

Devyn and Mark were kind enough to donate their time to model for Coelle's 7th practice session, and her first engagement. These two are recently engaged and are planning a March 2015 wedding. I can't gush about these two enough - they were so great to work with, gorgeous, and super super nice. We had kind of a muggy night for the session at Cedar Ridge Winery, but it didn't seem to bother these two very much.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm so proud of the progress Coelle is making. She really has grown as a photographer in such a short time! This girl has talent. :)

Devyn and Mark - it was SO wonderful meeting you both. I'm so grateful to you for modeling, and being so awesome to work with. I hope you like this sneak peek!

Now Offering Mentoring Sessions

One thing that I've enjoyed about going full time with my photography, is that not only am I able to really focus on something I love, but I've also had the opportunity to discover that I really enjoy teaching/mentoring. I've worked with a few photographers now, as well as assisting some of my friends' small businesses (BoundingHound and Memories in the Making) with brand consulting. I have enjoyed developing my own brand so much, and have really enjoyed helping others really round out their business by giving it personal touches that make it uniquely them.

Teaching is always something I thought I would want to do, but find that one-on-one is the best fit for me right now. I have loved teaching my assistant Coelle the behind-the-scenes aspect to my business, as well as teaching her how to shoot. It's been so rewarding for me, that I decided I would love to start offering mentoring sessions as an aside to my photography business. I'm working on getting a page on my website dedicated to this, but am currently offering a discount to the first 3 mentoring sessions that are booked!

These mentoring sessions can be customized to your needs, but the basic package (and the one I'm discounting for the first 3 bookings) includes the following. Please email me at info@jenmadigan.com if you're interested in working together! *Note: I do have certain restrictions on specific topics when working with local (within a 40 mile radius of the Iowa City area) photographers, but I'm open to brainstorming and helping develop your own voice/business identity!
