Friday Randomness: On the Farm [Personal]

A couple of weeks ago, one of my 2014 brides Kyle emailed me to share that two baby goats were born on the farm she shares with her fiancé Mike. You see, when I met Kyle and learned that they owned goats, I could hardly contain my excitement. I'm sure you all know by now that I LOVE dogs. But, you may not know that I also LOVE goats. In fact, I've even gone as far as to research whether or not goats are allowed in the North Liberty city limits. (Sadly, they are not.)

Anyways, when Kyle emailed me about the baby goats, we set up a time that I could stop by and get my fix. So, on a soggy Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, I pulled on my rainboots and headed out to meet the new babies.

Not only did I get to meet the goats (and a multitude of sheep) but I even got to hold little Cocoa the goat, who is being bottle fed. It was so sweet, he even fell asleep in my arms!! Here are some photos Josh took on the farm, and I snuck a few in of Duke (a beautiful boxer!) as well. I'm so framing one of these for my office.

Shannon, Kam, & Paco [North Liberty, IA Family and Pet Photography]

I was looking through some old posts yesterday and realized that I promised more photos from Shannon and Kam's session with Paco after their holiday cards were sent out and never actually got around to it! I decided that just wouldn't do, so here are a few more photos of the adorable Paco and his equally wonderful owners Shannon & Kam to brighten your Thursday afternoon.

Pattie & Benton (and Ruby too!) [Iowa City, IA Maternity Photography]

Pattie and Benton are expecting their first child (well, second if you count furry babies like their adorable pup Ruby!) in May, and I was thrilled that they contacted me about maternity photos. I really love photographing this time in people's lives, it's filled with tons of love, excitement, and anticipation for the new arrival. Pattie and Benton were absolutely glowing with adoration for each other as well as this new life they're eagerly awaiting.

Pattie & Benton (along with Ruby of course!) chose City Park in Iowa City as their session location, which provided a stunning snow filled backdrop for their maternity photos. Winter sessions are some of my favorites, the world just seems so peaceful, don't you think? Ruby seemed to enjoy the snow too, we were all wishing we had a luxurious fur coat like hers to keep us warm!

Pattie & Benton - it was a pleasure to meet you both, thank you for choosing me to document this milestone! I am so excited to meet your new addition when he or she arrives in May. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
